Jackson Family

The imagerepresents the Jackson family of Crab Run, west of McDowell, Virginia:

Aubrey & Alva Violet Jackson & their three sons, Josiah, Daniel & Forrest.

The likeness was done in April, 1861, before Josiah ran off to join the 31st Virginia.

Sadly, he was killed just a year later when his regiment was among those

liberating the town of McDowell from the invading Northern horde.

The reenactors are: Ashley and Kathleen Jackson and sons Daniel and

Forrest, all of Eno Soldiers Relief Society;

and Sean Pridgeon, independentmember of the Fifth Battalion.
