But are they all really praying to the same God?
We've been told that "all religions are fundamentally the same"... but is that statement the TRUTH? Or are there fundamental differences that clearly show these religions to be in strong opposition to each other?

The concept of truth has been attacked for decades by "intellectuals" who wish to erase the meanings of "right" and "wrong"... no more moral absolutes. "You do your thing, I'll do mine... as long as no one gets hurt, that's fine."
This heinous sneak attack, however, proves clearly that there are indeed moral absolutes. It was VERY WRONG to destroy all those civilians in an unprovoked attack.
The TRUTH: Allah (Islam) and Jehovah (Christians & Jews) are two very different gods, with very different attributes.

So who is right? It is clear that Allah is a bloodthirsty god, and any reading of the Koran will prove it, but hasn't the same been said of Jehovah? It has been said, but the TRUTH is that Jehovah is a righteous God, and sometimes that calls for retribution, even to the point of death. (In the 1700's, The King of England was imposing tyrannical laws and improper taxes on the new American colonists. It was wrong and it had to stop. The Brave Americans that fought in the Revolutionary War shed their blood to make things right, and killed a few British soldiers along the way. Were the Americans bloodthirsty? Hardly... they died for a righteous cause, and it gave the USA Freedom!)

Jehovah, the God of Abraham, has historically shown His wrath in order to make things right. As Creator, He has that righteous privilege and duty… He was simply teaching lessons of the Law, policing if you will, in order to keep order. He is also a jealous God, which is again His right as Creator… He made us and expects us to acknowledge Him on His terms. Was He showing His wrath against the US for its lack of love towards Him? As a nation, the US has certainly turned away from more worshipful days, but would He really do such a thing? Or perhaps, did He allow this for a greater purpose? Maybe because of the horrible carnage, His fat and lazy but beloved country would turn toward Him, and thus be incredibly blessed; or even saved from a far worse terror? We simply can't know for sure, but many people are still looking to religion for answers.

But is it even about religion? Hasn't religion caused most wars, and thus lack of safety and freedom? Religions are man-made, and each may well contain some wisdom and truth. But none are sufficient to create peace and safety. What we need is Perfect Truth, beyond the feeble mind of man, but revealed by a loving God Himself... in order to make things right.

That is why you should thoughtfully consider a relationship with God, rather than a religion of man. Seriously - how could all those religions be right? Truth, by definition, is not a wishy-washy conglomerate, but a single Truth.

Here is Truth.
God loves you. He wants to be your Father and your Friend.
He already is, but not everyone has accepted Him yet.
The problem is the huge gap between His Perfect Nature and our own Imperfect Nature. No man can bridge that gap, so God created a way in order to make things right between us. Not unlike the Colonists in the American Revolution, He was willing to shed His own blood to make that happen. Why was that necessary? It's because SIN, the result of our Imperfect Nature, requires DEATH.

In the days of the ancient Jews, He allowed blood offerings of unblemished animals as a substitute for each person's death. He didn't want dead people, just people who chose to love Him back. But God had a greater plan to come, one for all races and all people. He initially used the Jews, His beloved chosen people, as an example to all the world of the consequences of human behavior. When the Jews turned toward Him, He blessed them magnificently and gave them victory over ungodly idol-worshipping tribes, to the point of giving them the land of Palestine forever. When they turned away from Him, He gave them warnings and chances to repent. When they refused, He punished them. So it continued for many cycles throughout Jewish history.

He also promised the Jews a Messiah…
one who would come to be their Savior and King.
However, when the Messiah showed up, most Jews didn't recognize Him, and some very "religious" but ignorant leaders had Him killed to preserve their power. It didn't matter though, because that was God's plan. Jesus the Messiah was the Son of God, the new unblemished sacrifice that God was providing to man, once and for all. God counted his undeserved death as a sufficient price for all people's sins. It was an incredible and undeserved gift to man from God, made simply out of Love and Mercy. God wanted man back, and paid the price for it. Then, He did the seemly impossible… to prove that Jesus was truly God Himself in the flesh, Jesus was bodily resurrected from the dead. Jesus, being God, could not remain dead! Over 500 witnesses saw Him and testified this Truth. Many of those witnesses eventually died at the hands of evil people who wanted to hide the Truth. But think about it: people don't give their lives for something they know to be a lie. These early martyrs gave their lives because they knew the Truth. They wouldn't deny the Truth about Jesus. God counts the martyr worthy of special rewards in Heaven, so these people did not die in vain. They trusted God, and He blessed them magnificently, you can be sure.

But was it the Jews who killed Jesus? Not really. It was every human who ever lived, including you and me. He died for us all, voluntarily, so that we might live with Him forever in a perfect relationship in a wondrous sin-free environment called Heaven. Our sin killed Him, but His Love raised Him back to LIFE!

How does this all relate to safety and freedom in this dangerous, terror-filled world? Safety in God, and Freedom from Sin, Guilt and Fear! We no longer need to fear death! Though we may die physically (or not), we will be resurrected to new perfected bodies, which will live eternally with God Himself… and He promised that we will really love our new home! This Earth is nothing compared to what God has in store for His children.

The questions then are
1) where do I sign up? And
2) what happens if I don't?

Let's hit #2 first. Currently, as a sinner, you are spiritually dead, and incapable of entering Heaven… you're just too filthy, no matter how "good" you think you've been. God said that no man is good, not by His standards of Perfection. So rather than Heaven, you get Hell. "But how can a loving God send me to Hell?" Simple. He doesn't… YOU DO by rejecting Him. He provided a free way out and you ignored it. Jesus said that no man would come to the Father except through Him, through Jesus' sacrifice. Jesus meant what He said, like it or not. Remember, you had no other option because of your sin, but God provided a FREE GIFT. Jesus said He was the Son of God, and the only way to Heaven. That makes Him a liar, a lunatic or Lord. Which do you choose?

That is the answer to #1. Choose Jesus as Lord.
You simply pray to Him and tell Him a few things in your own words.
Here are the topics you must hit:

I am a sinner, I do things that are selfish and wrong.
By your Law, my sin deserves spiritual death and I agree; I deserve death.
I am totally incapable of doing anything about it without You.
I repent (turn my back on) my past sins, and promise to try to do your Will.
I believe that You died for me, in my place, to pay my debt for me.
I believe that You then rose again to life because You are God Almighty.
I believe that I have done nothing, and can do nothing, to ever deserve this wonderful Free Gift of Life, but it is all Your power that makes it happen.
I love You and thank You for Your incredible mercy.
