Dear Watchmen,

In response to the recent post on Maurice Strong, Lisa has sent information concerning the "millennium bug" -- a computer crisis which is literally approaching zero-hour. Other computer specialists have verified the coming emergency and some companies are taking drastic measures to resolve a problem which appears unsolvable on a worldwide basis.

"I also was aware of this computer problem. Newsweek, about six months ago, had an extensive article about the looming problems in all areas of the economy. It was extremely alarming although under reported in the world. As an example, Merrill Lynch has had programmers working around the clock to head this off and just hopes to be finished by 2000. How many businesses can even afford this total revamping of their systems. The magnitude is tremendous."

Lisa has provided a few web sites which offer information on the y2k problem. Since Gary North, whose web site has much information is also a Reconstruction leader, I am providing a little background on this movement:

Kingdom Now leaders such as Gary North, Pat Robertson, Jay Gary and many others envision applying the Old Testament Law to a secular world.
Rev. Al Dager's report on Kingdom Theology is comprehensive and worth reading for understanding the unbiblical basis of this movement. According to Rev. Dager's analysis --

"More than any other movement, Reconstruction is the intellectual arm of Dominion Theology. Offering articulate and intelligent arguments for the Church to establish theocratic rule by taking dominion over politics, economics, science, the arts, and every other expression of human social structure, Reconstruction attracts thinking people who see God's laws as the only answer to the present chaos."

The y2k dilemma seems to synchronize well with Reconstruction theology and also the longstanding plans of the New Age movement for a "New Beginning" of civilization -- starting over with a clean slate in A.D. 2000. The advent of a new Christ would inaugurate a new calendar, possibly starting at 00. (Dan.7:25) New Agers and Christians have been planning for such a year of Jubilee, in which there will be a worldwide redistribution of wealth and all debts canceled. At the conclusion of Lisa's messages, I have included some statements of religious leaders on the much heralded Year of Jubilee.

I questioned Lisa as to how MONDEX will be implemented if the world's computer systems shut down. It seemed reasonable to assume that Maurice Strong and the global planners have already thought of this, if they have not engineered the crisis themselves. Her reply confirmed the global syndicate as being in command of the situation and perhaps abetting it. I am also sending a recent report on MONDEX from Lonnie Mason. Perhaps those more technically-oriented than I will understand how all of this is going to work out!

I have been on your mailing list for a while now and have greatly benefited from your knowledge and research. God bless you for your obedience and faithfulness to Him.

I read with great interest your report on the Religion and Cultural Diversity Conference. As I read the your quote of Maurice Strong, I got a very bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. The reason is that I have been doing extensive research on what has come to be called the "millenium bug" by the media or y2k by computer folks. Perhaps you have heard about this. It is the looming challenge faced by virtually everyone who makes use of a computer, but especially those relying on the old mainframe systems (which includes most government agencies both here and around the world). The problem, in a nutshell, is that the mainframe computers, programmed back in the sixties, were programmed only to recognize a two digit year. In order to save precious (in those days) disk space, the programmers let the first two digits of the year simply be "assumed" by the computer to be "19". Thus, all dates are read as simply "67" for 1967 or "78" for 1978, etc. When the year 2000 hits, these old programs will think it is 1900. The ramifications, played out to their logical conclusion, are staggering for government. In the worst case scenario, governments around the world will come to a virtual stand still, unable to function due to dependence on inter-connected computer systems, which will fail.

Our government does not have a good track record when it comes to dealing with most problems in a timely fashion. Most branches of government are woefully behind in even beginning to implement a strategy for dealing with this huge task. It involves going into the computer system, which have millions of lines of codes, and correcting it line by line. To give you an example of the enormity of this undertaking, the Social Security Administration hired 400 extra programmers back in 1991 to begin correcting the over 40 million lines of code in their system. By 1996, they had managed to correct only 6 million lines. Jan. 1, 2000 is an immovable deadline, it can't be missed without severe consequences. Our government does not take kindly to intractable deadlines.

If you would like to see documentation of this, the website www.garynorth.com contains volumes of information, including government documentation. You may or may not agree with all of Mr. North's opinions or conclusions, but the documentation is irrefutable. Also, a simple search on Infoseek's News Service using the words "millenium bug" will verify that this is indeed a real threat. Senators, congressmen and officials from around the world are on the record as to the potential disaster this seemingly miniscule detail in computer programming can cause.

Maurice Strong's words could come true in a very short time. There is an extraordinary lack of action on the part of government to really jump on the ball, considering the fact that time is quickly running out, perhaps already has run out.
Makes one wonder if certain folks wouldn't actually like to see the worst case scenario come to pass. It would certainly put the masses into a position of desperation, willing to do anything to bring about a resolution to the crises.

If you are already fully informed regarding this issue, please forgive my lengthy explanation. My experience has been that 9 out of 10 people are completely unaware of this or have only heard about it in passing. I would welcome any dialogue on this matter. Thanks for your time.

On the Gary North site, I recommended it mainly because of the many links he has to the various government documentation, technical reports, etc. available on the web that verify the severity of this problem. I don't really know too much about Mr. North, I know he has another site called the Remnan Review which explores biblical prophecy. However, he has done a lot of footwork in compiling documentation.

If you would like to see some info straight from a mainframe programmer, go to Ed and Jennifer Yourdon's TIME BOMB 2...
Mr. Yourdon is a recognized expert in the field of mainframe programming and he just gives folks the straight skinny on this situation from a computer tech's point of view. He and his daughter wrote this book together and he does share his thoughts on how folks might be able to cope. He is not a Christian, at least not apparently so from what he writes, and I haven't read every chapter yet. So far, nothing offensive.
Especially look at his Appendix 1 and Appendix 2 sections where he really explains why this is going to be such a mess, these will probably be the most helpful to you.

Hi again! You wondered how Mondex would be implemented in the case of a world-wide computer failure. Here is a quote from Ed Yourdon's book Time Bomb 2000:

"Similarly, we would be extremely wary of anyone else's crystal ball, if it purports to show a specific Y2000-related scenario with great precision. A Y2000-related crisis in banking and finance, for example, might lead to the familiar phenomenon of hyper-inflation; but one can also construct a plausible scenario in which massive deflation is the result. And if it turns out that the telecommunications system and the Internet remain intact after 2000, it's even possible that the collapse of traditional banking could lead to an entirely new scenario, in which economic transactions are conducted through Internet-mediated, gold-backed "digital cash." And there are probably a dozen other scenarios that are equally plausible; gambling all of one's current financial assets on any one of these scenarios is risky indeed."

It is not inconceivable that certain "people in high places" are making sure that their systems will be operational when all else fails. It is not difficult to imagine that this scenario could set the stage for the attempt to implement a world-wide smart-card type of global economy. Hmm....

A PLANNED DECEPTION: THE STAGING OF A NEW AGE 'MESSIAH (1985) Constance Cumbey quotes "An Evolutionary Basis For The Reappearance of the Christ and his Executives, the Masters of Wisdom" by Rev. Earnest Ramsey, an enthusiastic follower of Alice Bailey and Benjamin Creme teachings.:

"In his Research Report #2, he tells of something he was led to by a spirit guide - what he terms 'Neo-Pentecostalism.' An aberrant branch of Pentecostalism, this is more commonly known as the 'Manifest Sons of God.'

Ramsey concludes . . . "that this is part of the New Age Movement."

"The most interesting section of Ramsey's report dealt with 'Neopentecostalism.' Ramsey spent a semester at one of the Neo-Pentecostal or Manifest Sons of God seminaries . . . . Already familiar with the Alice Bailey writings, he was amazed to see that there was a branch of Pentecostalism that embraced the same teachings - albeit using sometimes different terminology.

"Like those seeking the 'Age of Aquarius' these people too were seeking a 'New Age.' Like the other New Agers, these people taught that 'The Christ' was an anointing - not necessarily one man. They taught that Jesus was a pattern son who was to be a sign of something even greater to come - the 'Manifestation of the Sons of God.' They too believed the earth was to be cleansed of evil. And chillingly, like the other New Agers, they believed they were to be 'God's' instruments to do such cleansing. The New Agers believed they were gods. The Manifest Sons of God likewise taught that if one accepted their 'new revelation' that they themselves would actually become Christ at the time of the unveiling or manifestation of the Sons of God."

"Ernest Ramsey excitedly pointed out in his report that [the Manifest Sons] had a teaching which indeed did parallel the Aquarian teaching of the Age of Aquarius - the Old Testament 'Year of Jubilee' as well as the 'Feast of Tabernacles.' The Year of Jubilee paralleled the redistribution of the world's wealth. The Feast of Tabernacles was the equivalent of the coming together of the World's peoples and varied religions under one tent or tabernacle - the equivalent of the New Agers' long-awaited 'New World Religion.' . . . ."

Constance Cumbey also cited Pat Robertson's Perspective newsletter from January/ February 1981:

"In a section called 'A Radical Proposal to Halt Inflation' Robertson called for an International Year of Jubilee. This was modeled, said Robertson, after the Biblical Year of Jubilee... [which] canceled debts, freed slaves, 'and the means of production would be redistributed... If inflation is to be broken, there must be a cancellation of debt, secured or unsecured, should be totally released.'..." (Constance Cumbey, Special Report on Pat Robertson, "Year of Jubilee? Or Age of Aquarius Disguised?", Constance Cumbey's New Age Monitor, Aug.-Dec. 1987, p. 34)

New Age/Evangelical leader Jay Gary wrote in THE STAR OF 2000:

"In ancient times, the law of Moses called for a year of liberty every 50 years. You can read about it in Leviticus 25. . . . the Year of Jubilee was inaugurated by the blowing of the great ram's horn trumpet [of jubal] throughout the land. Thus began a year-long festival, marked by canceling outstanding debts, returning land to original owners and freeing indentured servants. . . "

Apostolic Letter of Pope John Paul II released on November 14, 1994:

From this point of view, if we recall that Jesus came to "preach the good news to the poor" (Mt. 11:4; Lk. 7:22), how can we fail to lay greater emphasis on the church's preferential option for the poor and the poor and the outcast? Indeed, it has to be said that a commitment to justice and peace in a world like ours, marked by so many conflicts and intolerable social and economic inequalities, is a necessary condition for the preparation and celebration of the jubilee. Thus, in the spirit of the Book of Leviticus (25:8-12), Christians will have to raise their voice on behalf of all the poor of the world, proposing the jubilee as an appropriate time to give thought, among other things, to reducing substantially, if not canceling outright, the international debt which seriously threatens the future of many nations.

1. For spiritual discernment within the Church and a disposition to try the spirits and to prove all things.
2. That Christians will look only to the Word of God as the foundation for sound doctrine and prophecy.
3. That pastors, teachers and other shepherds will not be deceived, but will warn and protect the flock.
4. That false prophets and teachers will be exposed and their teachings rejected by the Church.
5. That God will raise up men and women to earnestly contend for the faith.
6. That God will enlist men and women of prayer to intercede for the Church in these perilous times.
