The Alarm:
The Viper Ultra 800 HF has many
features (toys) that automate the car. From the remote I am able to arm/disarm
(obviously), roll windows up/down, top up/down, and start the car (just have to
remember to park it out of gear with the brake on). There is a relay that will
not allow the car to be started unless the break is on but the parking brake
alone is not enough to stop 300+ hp, just slow it down a little. A custom
magnetic switch is being built to keep the car from starting while in gear.
The Radar Detector:
The K40 UN3000SWL is a hidden,
remote, and undetectable radar detector. This system can be mounted just about
anywhere you want. Being that my car is a convertible, it posed a few
challenges that allowed for a creative install. The radar sensors are mounted
inside the front nose piece and the rear bumper, the laser sensor below the
windshield wipers, control module and one LED by the shifter, and the speakers
and warning LEDs in the rear view mirror. No matter where you are looking the
warning LEDs are within site. There is one speaker and LED for the front and
one speaker and LED for the rear. This is so you know where the threat is.
