Vancouver

British Columbia

I seem to be touching all points covering the map. Coast to coast my job takes me, leading me to many new adventures. Florida and California I strolled the beaches. New York, well I learned lessons about exploring a big city by oneself and not knowing the city at all. But the best of all my travels was the nine months that I spent in Canada. I had the opportunity to visit Vancouver, BC then to Calgary, AB, then to Toronto, ON and finally back to Vancouver. Each place is wondrous in its own way. I spent most of the time in Vancouver where I played guide for my parents and friends that visited. I had already trekked up mountains finding waterfalls, lakes, streams, dams, and stomped through forests from dusk to dawn so that I was prepared for my guests. I wanted to be able to lead them to view creations so great that it would leave no doubt that there is a God, a creator of all things. I discovered rainbows extending from the sky, hanging on clouds. Prayed with the mist blown from the whistling winds on high mountain crests and ridges where I felt I was on top of the world. I have never felt so close to God as I did at that time and the song "Awesome God" by Rich Mullins rang through my head. Below and on the next few pages are some of the sites and scenes from Vancouver and the mountains surrounding. If you like what you see check back often. I will be adding and changing pictures as I get some of over 600 pictures that I took scanned. All photographic images contained on this site are the property of Brandon C. Brandywine Falls

Brandywine Falls is about 45 minutes north of Vancouver on Highway 99 or about 10 minutes south of Whistler. "For thousands of years, water has cut through layers of lava to create Brandywine Falls and the swirling plunge pool below. The falls are 66 meters (211 feet) high! The highest volume of water occurs in early summer when an estimated 600 cubic meters of water per minute plunge over the edge, enough to serve the needs of a town of 3000 people… Brandywine Falls got its unusual name in the early part of the this century when two members of a railroad survey party wagered bottles of brandy and wine over the height of the falls."

Swim Lake

Swim Lake is a little lake that is a bit of a hike from Brandywine Falls. This is one of my favorite places because of the peacefulness of this area. In the winter high mountain lakes like this covered with ice and more than 4 feet of snow. Many people ride snowmobiles across these frozen lakes.
