Since I last updated anything here, I have finished a first edition of Kingdom of Heaven / Kingdom of God, my exposition regarding the kingdom of God as it is specifically mentioned and described in the Scriptures. I may eventually produce another edition, but for now, the book may be purchased through lulu.com. I decided to write this book because I felt dissatified with the continuation of medieval and dispensationalist traditions concerning heaven, which place the kingdom of God in the future post mortem or which rely upon popular eschatology that either interprets its as a political manifestation or as part of the rapture. I really do not have much confidence in either tradition or eschatology and it seems evident to me that we do not know exactly how the future will play out, no matter how much we have studied and no matter how well we understand the Scriptures. The present is more important than the future anyway and part of the faith consists in trusting God with the unknowns in life and knowledge. If we have faith in the Lord himself rather than any theology, tradition or teaching, then we do not need an unchanging philosophy or set of beliefs for a sense of security and safety. After all, the Scriptures do say that Yahweh himself is our strength and Jesus himself our foundation, not some ideology or set of teachings. The kingdom of heaven is something we can all experience and participate in now.

In any case, I want encourage you to buy a copy (either as a physical book or as digital dowload) and read it. I am foregoing the luxury of pretending to ask for a “donation” from you that so many do when what they really want is to sell you a book. I don’t mind speaking honestly about this. I want to sell as many copies of this book I can. To this end, if you are interested, click on the book to go to its page. There is a preview which you may read to determine whether you would like to purchase a copy or not. Whether you ultimately buy a copy or not, thank you for considering it. Shalom.
