King's Kung-Fu and Tai Chi
Class Rules and Etiquette

CLASS RULES AND ETIQUETTE - get to know this information and put it into practice.

If you cannot make it to class e-mail or call to let us know you are not coming, whether it is a private or group class.  Time has been made availble for you, be considerate and cancel if you are not going to make it.  Martial arts is a discipline so be disciplined in this regard also, no exceptions.

Class is for discipline, education and fun. Keep all behavour, actions, conduct and speech (personal, political or intimate) that is not relavent to class outside of and away from class. Anything that detracts from the purpose of class has no place in class. Everyone is in class for the stated purpose and description of the class, specifically, Kung-Fu, so lets keep our focus on that objective.

All students are considered equal. Having more or less money will not win you special treatment. Being male or female will not win you special treatment. Your rank does not earn you special treatment either. Thinking that these things make you greater than a fellow student, however, will earn you less respect. Just be in class, concentrate on the subject and train hard.

No gossip, use your time productively by training

Try to arrive on time for class, things do happen but for the most part try to be punctual. This is so you get the most from class, if you are late just join in quietly.

No hats in class - exception would be for outdoor practice

Keep your sash and uniform in clean and neat condition, your appearence represents the school.

Practice between class. If you have to review old material that will be your instruction for that class.

Be prepared when I come to check you - meaning you have practiced and are ready.

Political issues/subjects/comments, of any kind, are not appropriate, it is a class on Kung-Fu and/or Tai Chi, not politics. Train hard, enough said.

Be considerate and respectful of your fellow classmates

Be considerate and respectful of the teacher and school

Tests are to be completed when they are started.  You cannot have a long absence in the middle of a test.  If you do you will need to start the test over

You should also be current in your attendence to test.

As and if needed these rules may be amended.
