The world of plants is one of the most fascinating things to me. That a plant can grow from a seed, and be beautiful, and heal the world of its woes, is just magical. Thus I have devoted this page to some plant and herb oriented web pages.

I have studied both gardening and herbal medicine for over a decade now, both subjects perpetuating the other. Classes in herbs, herbal medicine, and gardening, and experience working as a florist has boosted my experience and knowledge of the subject.

Gardening

There are many links here, like the GardenNet. The Virtual Garden is really cool! My favorite part is the Electronic Encyclopaedia, which shows beautiful illustrations of plants. There is also the Garden Gate, Missouri Botanical Gardens, and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. My favorite newsgroup concerning gardening are rec.gardens. I don't know why this next link is here but it is cool; it's the Wild Mushroom page. Lastly, for those interested in historical gardening, Mary's Gardens is a page of medieval gardening.

Herbal and Other Alternative Medicines

The Apothecary was a place where people with any ill could go in hope of finding a remedy or cure. Apothecaries had a wide knowledge of herbal and chemical medicine. Below I have pulled together a few links for those who are also interested in herbal medicine. I hope to have this looking more shapely soon, cause there is certainly more to come! The Herb Society of America has a wonderful page. There is also the Yahoo Herb Directory, which is laden with herbal medicine pages. There is also a Yahoo Herbal Medicine Directory. Richter's Herb Farm is a wonderful farm in Canada. They have an excellent variety of growing plants, which are often hard to get a hold of. There is also a VERY heavily used newsgroup, alt.folklore.herbs...lots of new messages EVERY day. The Yahoo guides are in general, some of the best for finding a lot of links for one subject. Here are the directories for Alternative Medicine and Homeopathy.
