The Shok'lar may have been tagged as a light fighter by Kilrathi engineers, but it's
battle performance was such that it became one of the most fearsome ships of it's
time. Pressed into service shortly after the Kilrathi attack on Earth as a means of
defending the Kilrathi borders from raiders and privateers until the fleet could
be rebuilt, the Shok'lar mounted a number of experimental weapon systems,
the data from it's performance proving invaluable when brought into consideration
for the Kilrathi fighter designs that would follow. In particular, the cloaking device
that the Shok'lar mounted, which was much more efficient than the one found on
the Strakha Prototype, would serve as the design paradigm for the Strakha
class stealth fighter that would enter service in 2669
