Waiting for the Mad Scientist

The home page for Brian Earl Brown

People have wondered why I haven't set up a facebook page. Half in jest I reply that I don't want to be that visible on the Internet. Recently I can across a article that, perhaps, better explans why I'm not on Facebook or why I don't have a blog. The authors of the report determined that there were tens of millions of blogs on the web. Then they went back and determined how many of those blogs had been updated in the previous six months. Tghat number was only a few million. While that implies there are lots and lots of active blogs out there, it also says that for the most part, blogs get abandoned. I've just decided to cut out the middleman and abandon my blog before ever beginning one.

Blogging, like so many things sounds like a lot of fun at first but after a while the shiny new smell wears off, it becomes more like work, a chore, and then you ask yourself, 'Why am I doing thisd?' and that's the end of the blog. Of course people might argue that writing about why I won't blog is itself a form a blogging.

I don't care.

And the fact that I might come back here from time to time to write soemthing doesn't mean this is a blog. It's some space given to me by my ISP.

Things I Do

Beb Books

This is what I do in my spare time, reprinting adventure and fantasy stories from the early pulp magazines. Check it out and see what I have available. You might find something you like.

My Flickr page
I mean to post pictures I've taken as various pulp conventions. Currently all I have up are pics from 2009's Pulpfeast 1.

My Deviant Page
Helping my daughter write some fan fiction got my interested in writing as well. I've posted my stories here as well as some photos that I thought would be interesting to art oriented people. Be warned that my fan fiction, like my daughter's is set in the Danny Phantom cartoon universe.

My FanFiction page
Most of my stories are cross posted here as well. DeviantArt lets you comment on your stories. FanFiction is better organzined for posting multiple chapters for long stories.

While I remain a fan of Bettie Page I have no pages devoted to her.
