Quilt Historian, Quilt Appraiser, Quilting Teacher and Lecturer

Quiltmaker, quilt historian, lecturer, AQS certified quilt appraiser and curator, Beverly Dunivent has spent over twenty years sharing her knowledge of quilts and quiltmaking. She is an authority on quilt dating, quilts of the 1930s, scrap quilts, string pieced quilts, quilt restoration, reproduction quilts and kit quilts. She teaches and lectures throughout the country.

Her articles have been published in many quilting magazines includingLady’s Circle Patchwork Quilts, Traditional Quiltworks, Quilting Today, American Quilter, Miniature Quilt Ideas and Vintage Quilts. She co-author of Kit Quilts In Perspective published in Uncoverings 1994 by the American Quilt Study Group and her 1930s Basket Quilt is featured in the book Class Act Quilts. Beverly is the consultant to RJR Fashion Fabrics for their 1930s reproduction fabrics, Their Posey Quilt Collection and Butterfly Hope Collection are based upon her quilts. She was the guest curator for the exhibit "Bright Quilts From Dark Days" at the New England Quilt Museum in 1997.

Quilt Appraisals

Any quilt of value should be photographed, documented, appraised and insured. If your quilt is stolen, lost, destroyed or damaged and it isn't insured there is little recourse to recover its value. Beverly has been certified by the American Quilter's Society to appraise your quilt. She has been tested upon her knowledge and has subscribed to the Appraiser Certification Program's Code of Ethical Practices.
