Schools and Retreats  to check out

The John C. Campbell Folk School  in Brasstown, North Carolina offers a variety of classes, including basketry, throughout the year. Check out their website and request a catalog. For a list of basketry classes in 2003/4, click here.

Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in the Great Smoky Mountains of  Eastern Tennessee provides one and two week courses, special media conferences, seminars, community classes and Elderhostel sessions in a variety of arts and crafts, including basketry.

Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts, Ludlow, Vermont, operated by The Society of Vermont Craftsmen, Inc. for the past 54 years.  This summer they are offering 150 courses in a wide variety of arts and crafts including many in basketmaking. FMI email Barbara Gerdin
