Jane Routley

The author of several fantasy books about Dion, a woman mage, Routley's first-person narrative is engaging, and her heroine is very believable in both distress and joy.

  • Jane Routley is an Australian. She was born in 1962, and now lives in Denmark. She has written several fantasies about a world with powerful mages and even more powerful demons; strong and frequently deadly politics and religion.

The books have been published in the US and Australia. According to Jane, the next 2 novels will take place in the same world, but about 400 years prior to the actions in Mage Heart and its sequels. Hopefully, we'll see them in 2001 or early 2002.

Chat transcript at Chicon 2000 At the Worldcon 2000 (Chicon 2000), Jane talks (briefly) about her history, and about plans for more books.

Fantastic Fiction A remarkably terse bibliography, however with a birth year and some cover links.
