Taking care of your diabetesX
day by day is the key to success.

Eating releases sugar from food into the bloodstream, from where it is then moved into cells by insulin released by the pancreas.  Diabetes occurs when the pancreas makes too little insulin or when the insulin is not as effective as it should be, both of which cause elevated blood sugar levels.

People with diabetes often do not have symptoms, even when their blood sugar levels are high.
