In the past three years, three new types of diabetes medication
have become available. These new pills work differently but all work
to improve blood sugar. Now there are pills which not only improve
insulin release from the pancreas, but delay the absorption of sugars from
the stomach, improve the body's ability to use its own insulin more effectively
and reduce the amount of sugar made from the liver.
