This is our basic Elizabethan style untrimmed sleeveless doublet (jerkin) made with three layers of trigger sports cloth and metallic buttons. WHEN IT IS WORN WITH THE GUSSET SHIRT (RC3), it meets the armor standards for those kingdoms requiring 4 layers in the torso, one layer for the arms and 4 layers in the underarm area. WHEN WORN WITH THE MMEA SHIRT (RC4), it meets the armor requirements for those kingdoms requiring 4 layers in the torso and 4 layers to the elbow. Black, Burgundy, Dark Green, Navy, Gray S, M, L, XL (See below for sizing measurements.) If you are still unsure of your size...send custom size measurements and we will select the size that will fit you best.
 
| Sleeves Only! These tie-on sleeves are designed to match the trigger sports cloth doublet (jerkin) above. They have points with aglets (cords with metal tips) for threading through eyes sewn into the doublet armhole at the shoulder. Black, Burgundy, Dark Green, Navy, Gray One Size. These doublets and jerkins are made of Limited Stock brocaded or damask fabrics which must be dry cleaned. They are lined with 2 layers of trigger and trimmed with metallic buttons and metallic gimp/trim sewn straight around the garment as pictured. This garment has the same shirt requirements as the basic trigger doublet above. You must contact us for available designs and colors. We usually have black, gold, burgundy, green and blue fabrics available. Some stock may be ready for immediate shipment. See the sizing chart below for sizes.

They have points with aglets (cords with metal tips) for threading through eyes sewn into the doublet armhole at the shoulder. Since most of our brocaded fabric is limited, we suggest you order your sleeves at the same time as your doublet. This not only guarantees the fabric will be available, but it will also be the same dye lot. The trim selection is the same as the specialty doublets. OUR SIZING STANDARDS FOR RAPIER DOUBLETSOur Rapier Doublets are not sized by modern sizing standards since period clothing does not fit like modern clothing. The numbers in the sizing chart are ACTUAL GARMENT MEASUREMENTS, not modern sizes. This armor has a generous cut in the back to allow ease of movement while fencing. Your actual body measurements (not modern size) should be 4" to 6" SMALLER at the widest part, i.e. chest or girth. These garments are cut long in the torso and fit most men; however, the majority of the women fencers order a custom size because of their shorter torso and waist to hip ratio. |
