had not given in to exhaustion. The buyer entered. How appealing would we be to her? Today she would buy one fabric. The storekeeper prepared to immediately destroy all fabrics that were not
chosen. I heard her request all weaves that were too loose or too
tight be eliminated. She also examined the fine structure of individual
fibers. My fabric was selected for the final 100! I was elated! She had now eliminated by all considerations except for
aesthetics. I could hardly believe it: a
choice of this magnitude based on aesthetics!
