Technologies, Tacoma, Washington
Oracle Database Administrator, 2009-2010
As
an Oracle DBA, supported Oracle 9i (9.2.0.8) databases on Sun Solaris 10
servers for development, QA, staging, and production for Avue web-based
applications that provided Federal Government agencies with HR management tools
and job seekers with a portal to apply for federal employment. The application was built under Oracle
Application Server 10.1.3 release. Also
provided support for Workbrain databases as part of a pilot project to provide Time
and Attendance functionality to customers.
Additionally, managed data extraction from Federal government mainframe
systems which were then imported into Avue's databases. The data extraction involved in part
executing Focus programs on the mainframe and then moving the resultant data
file to Windows and later to Unix.
Weyerhaeuser
Company, Federal Way, Washington
Senior Specialist-Database Analyst, 1998-2008
As development and operational DBA, supported over 50 Oracle databases (Oracle7 through 10gR2) across over 20 servers (both HP-UX and Windows 2000/2003) and over 30 Microsoft SQL Server databases (2000 and 2005 versions) across six servers. Maintained Oracle Names repository running under Oracle9i, and coordinated migration to Oracle Internet Directory (OID) as replacement for Oracle Names functionality. Coordinated with developers in SQL tuning and debugging PL/SQL procedures. Support provided to mission critical applications in Corporate HR, Containerboard Packaging, Fine Paper, and Cellulose Fibers business units to include support to divestiture efforts when some business units were sold. This support included physical standby databases for some of the systems.
