Within the Eye by Leslie GS
Fury whipping
in ever-constricting circles
penetrates its own core
a hollow of
sudden silence.
In that eye,
eyes lock
clear ice of an arctic sky
with
the enigmatic depths of a moody sea
A soft breath, a lingering touch
hang
suspended in that center
caged within spiraling walls
of battering, tearing winds
Again
cold and hot twist together, fusing
relentless
pressure coiling tight
Stillness shatters
with a roar of thunder
a white flash
of mind-blinding ecstasy
Raging, the storm begins anew.
