1.  JOHN1 MENZIES was born Aft. June 29, 1809 in Pennsylvania, and died March 17, 1875 in Philadelphia, PA.  He married MARY.  She was born Abt. 1825 in PA.

 

Notes for JOHN MENZIES:

Grandmom Schmidt's Bible (GSB) gives his death as March 17, 1875, in 67th year of age.  (So he was 66 at last birthday?  Would that make his birth year 1809?)  The 1860 census, taken on June 29, 1860 in the 2nd Ward of Philadelphia, reports his age as 50. That could mean his birthday was in 1809, after 6/29, since he was still 50 and not 51.  It reports his birthplace as PA.

Occupation given in 1860 Census:  watchmaker.  Value of personal property: $100

 

Notes for MARY:

The 1860 Census reports Mary's age as 35 and place of birth as PA, by ditto.
