Waegwan & Camp Carroll pictures & web sites

I was stationed at Camp Carroll while in the U.S. Army from May 1985 - May 1986. I was in D co. 304th Signal Battalion. My rank ranged from Pvt/E2 - SP4/E4 and my MOS was 31M (Multi Channel Communications). After my tour in Korea, I was sent to D co. 38th signal in Schwabisch Gmund. If you knew me then or were there, email me at; paredes@sprynet.com Click here if you want to know more about me.

If you are wondering what has happend to Camp Carroll since '86, It has grown conssiderably. D co 304th Signal was deactivated, but a whole new signal battallion was formed (well... reactivated) in 1988 - the 307th. HHC, A, B, & C 307th, 229th TACSAT and 226 TROPO attachments are (were?) located at Camp Carroll. Other units located there include; 18th MEDLOG BN, 16th MEDLOG Headquarters, 6th Ordnance Battalion,84th Ordnance Co., 19th TAACOM's 23rd Chemical Battalion headquarters, 267th and the 501st Chemical companies, The US Army Material Support Center-Korea (USAMSC-K) headquarters, and 57th MP Co. (728th MP).

* New *
As of January 2007; the 50 Room Army "Lodge" opened in November of 2006, and a new bowling alley is under way. The Major tenant units (of the camp) include the 501st Sustainment Brigade, U.S. Army Material Support Center-Korea, U.S. Army Field Support Battalion-Northeast Asia, Defense Distribution Depot-Korea, 6th Ordnance Battalion and the 16th Medical Logistics Battalion. (no mention of signal????)
And most disturbingly the 2-1 ADA (Air Defense Artillery Patriot Battalion) 35th ADA Brigade is moving to Camp Carroll in December of 2006 News article (pdf format)
