About the author:
The Lord drew me unto Himself and granted me "repentance unto life" (Acts 11:18) in 1977. Hence, being quickened, I received (John 1:12) Christ, but I became born again "not by the will" (John 1:13) as if it were free, but rather by His choice (John 15:16), lest I boast of free will, a notion entirely at variance with free grace. Salvation is "not of him that willeth" (Romans 9:16). Rather, "Salvation is of the Lord" (Jonah 2:9). Yet, I believe we ought, nevertheless, to preach the Gospel. The Lord "commandeth all men everywhere to repent." (Acts 17:30).
On October 22, 1977 I purchased a New American Standard (NAS) Version, and read and memorized from it for about 3 years. When I learned that the Authorized Version differed from the NAS, I began to study the debate. Finally in September 1980 I decided to discontinue usage of the NAS and began to memorize the same chapters (that I once learned from the NAS) all over, but this time with the Authorized Version. For my B.A. I chose to major in German largely because I found it intriguing that the NAS leans so heavily on German scholarship (Nestle & Kittel).

After much study, I conclude that the Authorized Version is the most accurate English translation. It is also the most suitable for today.
