TATER HILL REGULATORS
GENERAL POLICIES

NEW SHOOTERS MUST SHOW COMPETENCE

Beginning immediately all newcomers are required to show basic safety and competence with a firearm before participating in a match.  A stage will be set up to accommodate new shooters and a Range Officer will be available to help them through a stage before shooting a match with a posse.

This will apply to our friends that come to shoot with us. It will help to bring them out a little early so we can work with them before the regular match starts.

WALK-ON SHOOTERS

We want new shooters and encourage them to come but; Any "walk on" shooter, who wants to try their hand at "Cowboy Shooting", must either show up before the match starts or they can try out after the match ends.

We will no longer interrupt a match.

A Range Officer must accompany the new shooter. This does not apply to new shooters who attend the shooter’s meeting and are run through a competency stage.

HOW BIG A POSSE DO WE NEED?

Beginning in January we won’t split off into two posses unless we have at least 20 people.  If we have a small turnout and only have one posse, we setup just one side and make the layout changes after the 3rd stage has been shot.

2004 ACTIVITY FEE

No activity Fee for 2004.

SHOOTER’S MEETINGS

Our Shooter’s meetings will be held at 9 AM on the day of the shoot. We will start holding these in the "Rifle Pistol" building.  After the meeting, we will split up into posses and set up the stages.  Each posse is responsible for setting up their own stages and tearing down

AMMUNITION

There has been a lot of discussion about the amount of rounds that we should shoot at a regular match.  A couple of years ago it seemed like a lot if we shot 15 shotgun and 80 pistol/rifle  combined. These days we seem to shoot just under 25 shotgun and about 120 pistol/rifle combined.

HONE THOSE SHOOTING SKILLS

Beginning in January, the match winner will shoot the next month’s match for $FREE This eliminates the end of the year shoot off and will make for more winners.
