Universal Fighting Arts Federation
Membership Benefits and Responsibilities
The following is not only a list of the benefits and responsibilities with Universal Fighting Arts Federation but may also be considered a mission statement of Universal Fighting Arts Federation and what we believe and what we are about. This list is subject to evolution and change. While we do have meetings or "meetings of minds" we do not overburden our members or membership with frequent and unnecessary meetings, we take care of business and ideas as they occur and as needed. We also do not strive to be the largest organization around and our doors are open to both teachers with schools and teachers that have or choose to teach in public facilities such as Parks and Recreation, YMCA's or wherever is available - the spirit of a school is not contained in the brick, wood and plaster of a building but resides within the heart, spirit and mind of the teacher(s) and students.
Some of the benefits you can expect to enjoy are semi-regular newsletters, notices of special events and teachers, discounts to certain events, discounts on certain products, fellowship with sincere martial artists, rank recognition (In order to maintain our standards, authenticity, and reputation we require copies of rank certificates, letter(s) of reference, etc., and other authentication - to issue recognition of rank - contact us for more information) and more.
Other benefits are: *members can chose to be on our mailing list so you can get to know other members of UFA, * Schools are listed on our mailing list as well, * Get on our e-mail list and receive interesting information on martial arts periodically, *Form study groups and exchange knowledge with others both locally and at a distance (you get credit for what you learn), *Participate in our annual Friendship Games
Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities of membership with U.F.A. are that you abide by codes of conduct and ethics that govern our organization. The mastery of any art should bring with it qualities that go far beyond the mere physical skills needed to perform that art. Martial arts requires more than physical skill, it requires the development of the mind and spirit as well as the body. As you spend time perfecting your art there should also be a broadening and deepening of your character which is known as virtue and selflessness as well as a humble spirit.
Members of U.F.A. are expected to maintain high standards physically and even higher standards in the areas of ethics, respect, and virtue. Any members behaving in a fashion deemed unacceptable will be rejected from U.F.A. Disrespect, bullies, unethical behaviour, or any other breaches of conduct and/or etiquette are not permitted in U.F.A. The same holds true for seminar attendees whether or not they are members of U.F.A., if their behaviour is unacceptable they will be corrected and if they continue they well be expelled.
We hope to welcome you aboard as a member of Universal Fighting Arts Federation!
