Questions & Answers

Are these Postcards Copyrighted?

I assume that each of the postcards were copyrighted by their original publishers or manufacturers. When known, I state the name of the publisher and/or manufacturer on the detailed view webpage for each postcard.

Permission to use the Curt Teich Company postcards was granted by Katherine Hamilton-Smith, Curator of Historical Resources at the Lake County Discovery Museum in Wauconda, Illinois, which is where the Teich Archives are located.

I have made a reasonable effort to contact each of the other publishers/manufacturers to obtain permission to use their postcards on this website, but most of these companies are no longer in existence. If you own the copyright to any of the postcards on this website, I would appreciate if you would contact me via e-mail and give me permission to use your postcard(s). If necessary, I am glad to remove any postcard where permission is not granted.

Obviously, all stamp designs are copyrighted by the United States Postal Service.
