Who is Steve Yee ?

I'm just a typical single male in his late twenties who has an
avid interest in firearms, specifically with Smith and
Wesson and Colt Autoloading pistols.

Ironically, I'm not in the firearms industry.  I'm actually in
computers, having been in the computer industry for over 11 years now
as a programmer and network analyst.  I've been in the Direct Channel
as well as the hardware design/software design areas, and I now work
for a Fortune 500 rated computer firm based out of Massachusetts.

I am a person however, who not only believes in concealed carry, I
have friends (who are non-law enforcement) who have saved themselves
from bodily harm due to them carrying a concealed weapon.  One of them
(a female) faced off alone with three gangbangers and had them run
right into the arms of Phoenix Police !  I am NOT one of those elitists
who feel that only certain people (i.e. Cops) can carry concealed.

In short, I am a firm believer of Robert Heinlein's saying of "An Armed
Society is a Polite Society...."

I feel that anyone who passes the local criteria for concealed carry
should be allowed to do so.  And yes, where applicable, I do carry
concealed myself.  There are some areas (like at my real job) that
don't allow it...(someday we will allow "Vermont" carry in Arizona)

At one time, I did have an affiliation with a Law Enforcement Agency.
I used to be a volunteer Firearms Instructor with the Maricopa County
Sheriff's Office in Phoenix, AZ (and the youngest as well).  I also
teach CPR for through the American Heart Association.
(And yes, I am one of those rare CPR instructors who has done CPR on a
real, live person...in my case, twice...)

As promised....pictures !!!!

(From left to right, Gary, Dan, and myself)

(Commentary time...)
This is a picture of me and two of my friends.  From left to right is
Gary N., Dan T., and me !  Gary and Dan are dressed in MCSO "Lake Patrol"
uniforms, using embroidered golf shirts (tan) and brown duty pants.  I am
dressed in a standard Class 'B' duty uniform (of course, with body armor!)

With me..I'm anal enough so that when I go to duty, I wear normal
duty gear...and uniforms !  No nylon crap, no golf shirts....I only have
one golf shirt, and that is my Range Instructor's shirt that is red in color.

Gary uses Bianchi Nylon Gear, while Dan and I use black leather
basketweave from Aker...all approved duty gear. (By the way, Dan uses
a Smith 4506...and scored a perfect score on his final Firearms
Instructor test !!!)

Ahh, well..I digress...

I am just getting into this HTML thing (wierd, huh? Especially since
I have been on the net for over 7 years now.....).  Because
of the need to learn HTML, I figured that a good way to start is to
make a web page on a subject that doesn't exist yet (hard to find....)
(Click here for details as to how this page evolved)
So herein lies the reason why the birth of the "Unofficial Smith and
Wesson Home Page" !.  The other primary reason is that I own some of
Smith & Wesson's finest, including:

- An original Model 60 Chief's Special (.38spl non +p :{      )
- A first generation Model 66 (without front sight colored ramp insert)
- A Model 41 .41mag (this one is NIB)
- A Model 669 and 6906
- and the newest to the Smith & Wesson collection, the new 457 !

Ironically, the duty weapon I used isn't a Smith...it's a Colt Double Eagle.
Yes...that boat anchor of a gun that Colt made in an attempt to create
a double action pistol with Colt-like attributes...and somewhat succeeded.
And my Colt Double Eagle has been the ONLY D.E. so far to pass the MCSO
Firearms Instructors school, much to the dismay of my department's
armorer and most of the other range instructors that I teach with.
Most of them carry Glocks (Grin).

And, Yes, I am of Chinese heritage.  My family on my mom's side can
be traced backward through 4 generations in Arizona (I'm the fifth).
So I'm as "Native" Arizonan as they come ! ;)

If you do have any comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to
write to me. I respect ALL aspects of Free Speech.  If your opinion
differs from mine, GREAT !  That's what made our country what it is.

I will respond to all replies that aren't total flames. (GRIN)
