The Word and Deed Initiative:

Strategy

A Three Year Plan

The work of TLOT has been strong.  This history is the platform of vision, experience, and preparation to launch a strategic initiative – the Word and Deed Initiative – to reach and disciple the children and youth of Crimea.  The building blocks of this three-year initiative are:

Summer camps, staffed by American/Ukrainian short-term mission teams

• High impact
• Training nationals
• Building good will
• Opening doors
• Russian children
• Impacting team members

Evangelism/Discipleship

• Kid’s Krusades
• Scripture distribution
• Crisis telephone line
• Placing pastors/chaplains in orphanages
• Facilitating Ukrainians evangelizing Ukrainians, especially children in orphanages
• Transitional aid for graduating orphans
• Christmas gifts with presentation of the Gospel

Humanitarian aid

• Showing love in Word and Deed
• Giving clothing, coats, blankets, and shoes
• Bringing nutritious food to those in need, especially throw-away babies
• Helping the disproportionately high number of kids with leukemia
• Bringing desperately needed basic medical supplies
• Opening doors for evangelism and discipleship

Training nationals to reach and disciple the children of Crimea

The Word and Deed Initiative will effectively reach and disciple children and youth in Crimea.  Though short-term missions are incredible in their impact, only the indigenous church can truly evangelize a broad cross section of kids in Crimea.

• Step One:        Impart the Vison
• Step Two:       Teach the Skills
• Step Three:     Equip the Laborers

These conferences will accomplish each of these objectives and will raise an army to reach the children!  Together we will change kids’ lives, bringing them to faith and life in Jesus.  They are not the church of tomorrow; they are the young church of today.

    Truly, this is a time for Christians to stand up,

be counted,

join their shields of faith together, and,

“Just do it!”
